DONATE

It’s been nearly a decade since I posted my first blog on Downing’s Basement. That time has seen a lot of changes and advancements in what just started out as a hobby in a basement workshop. But times have changed and recently I’ve found myself (like many others) helping out the best I can with the Pandemic of 2020.

That being said, I’ve never felt right about putting a donate button on my site for a variety of reasons, but with all that’s been going on, I have been getting asked if there was anyplace people could donate to help cover materials or other expenses.

So for now I created a simple button for those who wish to make a monetary donation to help cover the expenses of the PPE that I’ve been producing. I have not and will not be charging the end users for any of the materials I produce and donate, so it’s all been an out of pocket effort. I have received a few material donations which have helped, the only thing that’s been a financial nuisance is the outbound shipping and my electric bill.

So if you feel inclined to help out in this effort, please click the donate button below and PayPal will guide you the rest of the way! You will see it under my business handle CND Custom Gaming.  Thank you again so much and please feel free to leave a comment with any questions!

Oh, I won’t say no to material donations either, so if you want to help with physical materials, let me know and I can point you in the direction of the stuff I’ll need!

4-25-2020 Update

A very special Thank You to those who have donated so far! In just the past week, the maker communities have really pulled together to do what we can with what we have. Unfortunately though like anything else that has a sudden unforeseen demand, raw materials are running dry with suppliers scrambling to keep up. This in turn has caused material shortages, specifically for plastic for the shields themselves. I can’t get the flat pre-cut sheets so I’ve had to buy bigger rolls of the same material and cut it down myself. And even then, it is still taking over two weeks to arrive and bigger material means more $$ to get in house. But that’s ok because at very least I’ll have the material needed. And for this week we have the following people below to thank for that!

Please accept my sincere appreciation on behalf of myself and those these products are going too! Thank You!
